Our Kitchen

I enjoy spending time in my kitchen surrounded by things I love, things that inspire me, colors and patterns that make me smile, time tested methods and tools, as well as new and fresh ideas! After moving across country with my husband Michael, from Ohio to North Carolina, in 2021, we fell in love with a 100 year old house in Historic Downtown Elizabeth City.

Our kitchen definitely has vintage style, including the original heavy porcelain sink! I set about sourcing, from far & near, what we needed to function and make us feel at home. Blue & white dishes like grandma had, folk art to compliment pieces we found on vacations, a few new appliances and gadgets, and touches of red to remind me of my Scandinavian heritage.

About 18 months later, I was asking “now what?” I had owned a woman’s consignment boutique in Ohio. Not sold on repeating that venture, it finally hit me that I could put my love of vintage together with “kitchen” and create a kitchen shop where “new” and “old” could go together.
